Description of the Paine Massif “O” Circuit
Day 1: Arrival at Torres del Paine National Park – Hike to Serón
To start the day you must go to the Puerto Natales bus terminal (rodoviario) and take the 7:00 am bus to Torres Del Paine, you will arrive at Portería Laguna Amarga and you must show the QR code of your entrance to the park rangers (CONAF). Then you take a “shuttle bus” from Transporte Las Torres which will take you to the Welcome Center in the Camping Central sector.
Here you will begin your hike towards Camping Serón, this is one of the easiest stages of the circuit as it is only 4 to 5 hours of walking between trees and grasslands that give you a unique and untamed view of this sector of Torres Del Paine. You will arrive at Camping Serón where you will have a tent with a sleeping bag and mat waiting for you, along with a delicious and cozy dinner in the Serón dining room.

Day 2: Hike to Dickson
We begin this day heading to Refugio Dickson, a moderately intense and long trek that gives us a spectacular view of mountains and glaciers along the way, which also mark the Chile-Argentina border. Arriving at the campsite we can see the Dickson Glacier, Cerro Cuba and other peaks.
Upon arrival, we check in at the shelter and settle into our beds or tents, then head out to enjoy the tranquility of the area, see Lake and the Dickson River, and stroll around the area until dinner time.

Day 3: Walk to Los Perros
Today we begin our hike towards Camping Los Perros, a long path between forests, rocks and slopes that will give us an amazing landscape of valleys and mountains throughout the entire route. Almost halfway along the route we will reach the Los Perros Glacier viewpoint, an amazing hanging glacier that dazzles us with its size and unique colors.
Camping Los Perros is a mountain refuge located inside a forest with only camping sites, bathrooms and a cozy dining room. Upon arrival we can explore this mystical place until dinner time.
We recommend going to bed early as the next day is the longest and most demanding part of the entire circuit and we must get up very early to successfully complete the next day.

Day 4: Hike to Grey via John Gardner Pass
Today begins the longest and most intense hike of the entire circuit, but at the same time the most beautiful and spectacular. We leave very early in the morning heading to Refugio Grey , crossing forests and bushes uphill to cross the famous Paso John Gardner, the highest section of our entire route (1,200 meters above sea level). Known worldwide for its unique panoramic view of the Grey Glacier and the southern ice fields. The walk from “Los Perros” campsite to the highest section of the John Gardner Pass takes approximately 6 hours, reaching this point the glacier dazzles us with all its immensity and extension. We must be careful because due to the height and proximity to the glacier the weather conditions are very hostile. After the highest part begins the descent of another 6 hours towards the Grey refuge passing through the CONAF Pass Camp. Where you can rest for a moment and continue the path crossing some hanging bridges that will give you a wonderful visual experience.

Day 5: Hike to Paine Grande
Enjoy breakfast at the Grey refuge before beginning to marvel at more spectacular landscapes of the Southern Ice Fields and the icebergs of Grey lake (don’t forget to order your box lunch!). A hike uphill through a mountain forest until you reach the sometimes very windy viewpoint of the Grey glacier. The hike continues until you reach Laguna Los Patos, where you begin the descent through a narrow and windy valley that takes you directly to the Paine Grande refuge.

Day 6: Visit to the French Valley – Hike to Los Cuernos
Start the day early with breakfast in Paine Grande to begin your journey to the Mirador Valle Frances and Mirador Británico, the latter point is considered the heart of Torres del Paine since it is located in the center of the entire massif and allows us a 360° panorama of peaks and mountains, to reach this point we must trek from the shelter to the CONAF Italian Camp, where we can rest and begin the ascent of approximately 2 hours towards the French Valley, which gives us a unique and special view of the imposing French Glacier. Once at this point we will have the option of returning or continuing up for 1 more hour towards the British viewpoint, which is located in the center of the entire mountain sector of Torres Del Paine and gives us this panoramic landscape of mountains all around us.

Day 7: Hike to Central Refuge
Regardless of whether you start your hike from the Los Cuernos refuge or the French Refuge, you will make your way through pristine streams, admiring the hanging glaciers of Mount Almirante Nieto (2,670 m) and you will be able to look for condors while skirting the captivating blue-green waters of Lake Nordenskjöld. Continue along the well-marked trail until you reach the Central Refuge, where you can relax in the afternoon.

Day 8: Hike to Base Torres – Return to Puerto Natales
Today’s hike begins in the Ascencio Valley, enjoying its extensive forests. During the final ascent, you cross an immense field of giant rocks, until you reach one of the most emblematic viewpoints in the world, the famous Base Torres viewpoint. At a height of 900 meters above sea level, marvel at the 3 granite towers (north, central and south) and the bright turquoise glacial lake at your feet. This is the ideal time to take pictures and enjoy your box lunch before returning along the same trail, now downhill, towards the Torre Central refuge and Welcome Center. At 7:00 p.m. you must take the “Las Torres” transfer that goes to Laguna Amarga to connect with the regular 7:45 p.m. bus that goes to Puerto Natales. The approximate arrival time in Natales is 9:30 p.m.

Huelche Patagonia is not responsible for cancellations, modifications or no-shows due to the impossibility of arriving or accessing the shelters or campsites due to causes beyond its control, such as weather problems, road closures, natural phenomena, problems with air connections, delays in transfers or non-departures of boats and/or catamarans, social or political demonstrations or other problems derived from these, or any other factor beyond the will and control of Huelche Patagonia, such as accidents or illness, before or during your visit to Torres del Paine. For such eventualities, it is suggested that passengers take out travel insurance.
Payment and Cancellation Policies
- 20% of the total program will be requested to confirm the reservation within 20 days after the executive sends the reservation confirmation.
- The remaining 80% must be paid up to 70 days before the start of the program, which is also the deadline for making changes to the reservation.
- Reservations made less than 69 days before the start of the program must be paid in full (100%) within the next 5 business days of being confirmed by the executive. Once payment has been received, no changes or cancellations can be made.
In case of cancellation:
- 90 days or more before the start of the program, 100% refund. or Between 89 and 70 days before the start of the program, the penalty will be 20%.
- Between 69 and 45 days before the start of the program, 50% of the amount paid will be refunded. or 44 days before the start of the program or less, there will be no refund.
- In case of No Show, no refunds will be made. o Regarding tickets to Torres del Paine National Park, since they are purchased from an external entity that does not allow changes to dates, names or cancellations, the value of these tickets will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Reservations are nominative and non-transferable
Responsibilities
- Huelche Patagonia is not responsible for additional costs due to modifications or cancellations of reservations, nor for extra expenses caused by losses or delays in the transportation of passengers, whether by land, sea, air or lake.
- Huelche Patagonia is not responsible for cancellations due to unforeseen events or force majeure and, in this case, the passenger will not be reimbursed.
- Likewise, Huelche Patagonia is not responsible for the loss of documents or personal belongings during trips or specific dates of the program.
- It is the responsibility of each passenger to undergo a preventive medical check-up prior to any activity, excursion, trekking, etc., to ensure that their health is in good condition and compatible with the activity they will be carrying out. During the dates of the program, if the passenger should withdraw from the trip before its completion, whatever the reason, no refund will be made.
- Huelche Patagonia is not responsible for accidents on the way to or on the trails or in places that are not related to the contracted service. Any liability that may fall on Huelche Patagonia must be proven by a court ruling.
- Although Huelche Patagonia indicates the distances and difficulty levels of all hiking routes in its programs, it is the passenger’s responsibility to read and know what their limitations are, as well as to bring the appropriate equipment for optimal performance. At the same time, it is the passenger’s duty to inform CONAF about the opening and closing times of the trails and the internal regulations of Torres del Paine National Park.
Health Report and Release of Liability
It is mandatory for passengers to notify their agency or operator of any health problems when booking their trip and for them to inform us, in order to determine if they can undertake the activity or require any additional support. In the case of guided programs, the group leader or guide reserves the right to request that a passenger leave the program because he or she is not fit to undertake it or may pose a risk to himself or herself and/or the rest of the group. At his or her discretion, the passenger may be asked not to continue with his or her trip if for any reason or circumstance the person is not physically or mentally able to continue with the activity or does not follow instructions. In such circumstances, there will be no refund. Due to the geographical difficulty that may prevent access to medical care and hospitals due to health problems, Huelche Patagonia is not responsible for the delivery of medical care at any time during the trip.
All passengers will be asked, during program confirmation and payment, to accept and sign the liability waiver, verify their health status and assume responsibility for their limitations and/or special needs.
